LoveLee Natural Hairstyles: Coils 3/13/17 thru 3/17/17

Yaaaaaaaaaaaassssssss hunny! My hair was on slam this week. I just loved it. None of my styles came out the way I planned but I was able to recover just fine . There’s no need to get mad or frustrated when that happens. It doesn’t help, and I just don’t have that kind of time.  The hairstyle of the week was coils. I’ve been using The Mane Choice products the last two weeks. (I’m working on my review but I haven’t had time to complete…

Who Belongs In the Natural Hair Community

I am sadden to report that there was a lot of division, backstabbing, plagerism, and hatred in the natural hair community during 2016. Everyone hasn’t experienced the love and support that I have on my hair journey. In fact, people in certain natural hair groups, blogs and pages were flat out disrespected. I witnessed more cyber-bulling last year than I personally experienced as a child and I was traumatized. I think about the insecurities I developed and can’t help but to empathize with these victims.…

Third Day Braidout on 3C Natural Hair

My hair is still loving these Camille Rose Naturals haircare products. It’s been my main moisturizer and styler for the last two weeks. I shared my thoughts and routine in my last post. Check it out if you have time. I had a braidout that gave me new life. I pineappled it Monday night and slept with my bonnet. I only put #jbco on it yesterday. Nothing today. As you can see, the tresses are still separated but they’re thicker and fluffier. There’s a little frizz starting…

New Natural Hair Products For My Kinky Hair

Regardless I’m a product junkie who is always looking for new products to try. I always have been and probably always will be  My most recent adventure has been with Camille Rose Naturals haircare products. I…

Natural Hair Lovers: Don’t Buy the Lye; Live the T.R.U.T.H.

HOW TO STAY NATURAL WHEN TIMES GET HARD I keep saying the natural life ain’t for everybody. After the  2016 Olympics, I’m starting to think the black hair life ain’t for everybody. The permed life ain’t for everybody either. I can’t believe how Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles were dogged out because their permed tresses didn’t meet black twitter’s approval. Gabby was disrespected to the point of tears, provoking her mother to respond publicly. She has been traumatized by this experience and I can relate…

Soft & LoveLEE Mix: Deep Conditioning Natural Hair

This is my favorite deep conditioner recipe: 1/4 – 1/2 cup of Shea Moisture’s Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque 2 teaspoons of honey 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil 1 tablespoon of 💯% aloe vera juice Mix all ingredients together and let sit while you pre-poo and co-wash. Shake and scrunch the excess water out of your hair. Section your hair and generously apply the mixture from the end of your tresses to the roots. Detangle and put on a plastic shower cap…

Curl Friend Feature – Mrs. Sirmara Pierce, BSN, RN

Women’s health is of utmost importance especially in the black community. There are so many health disparities that black women have to deal with that ot shohld be comsidered a state of emergency. That’s why I’m proud of my Curl Friend Sirmara Pierce for organizing a community health fair in my hometown, Battle Creek MI. I was a very nice event, one of the nices health fairs I’ve ever attended. Sirmara and I went to school together from kindergarten through high school. She was always…
