30-Day Condition & Massage Challenge for Natural Hair

Objective: Prepare and strengthen hair for the winter weather

Challenge Rules

  1. No shampoo
  2. Co-wash only
  3. Deep condition weekly
  4. Massage scalp each night with oil of your choice

Duration: 10/1/16 – 10/30/16

Only use botanical products for co-washing and conditioning like:

  • As I Am CoWash
  • Tresemme Bontanique Conditioner
  • VO5 Conditioner

Use a masque, cholesterol or home-made recipe to deep condition. For example:

  • Shea Moisture Raw Shea Restorative Masque
  • Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Treatment Masque
  • Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi Deep Moisture Masque
  • DevaCurl Heaven Intense Moisture Treatment

Massage your scalp with an essential oil such as:

  • Jamaican Black Castor Oil – Coconut
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Coconut Oil
  • Grape seed Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil

RSVP on the Facebook event page to be added to the challenge group. In the challenge group, you will post your hair goals (length, thickness, etc.) and a selfie displaying your hair at the beginning of the challenge. Stretch it out if you want because shrinkage is real. Post an update at least weekly about your progress, questions, and concerns. At the end of the challenge, post another selfie showing your results.

  1. Very very true. Growing up, my mom would pour coconut oil (like I just gotten out from shower)in my hair and scalp every weekend. While I hated it every single time, I couldnt be more thankful now Ive got strong thick black hair.
